Taewoon HA, DPT
Founder, Physical Therapist
Hello there! My name is Taewoon, but most of my patients usually call me ‘HA’. I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. As a physical therapist, I draw my inspiration from a heartwarming story that I heard while studying in college. It was about my professor’s professor, who happened to be a Canadian missionary. She dedicated her life to helping disabled individuals in one of the poorest countries in the world and played a crucial role in nurturing and growing local health professionals.
Hearing this story deeply resonated with me, and it ignited a passion within me to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives through the healing power of physical therapy. I was inspired by the selflessness, compassion, and genuine healing process that my professor’s professor embodied, and I knew that I wanted to follow in her footsteps.
I have undergone rigorous certification and licensing processes to ensure that my qualifications meet the highest standards in the physical therapy industry. I completed my education with a Post-Professional Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Touro University in Bay Shore, New York, and subsequently gained 10 years of valuable experience practicing in New York City. Throughout my career, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from working with diverse patients.
At HA Physical Therapy, our treatment philosophy is deeply rooted in the expertise and inspiration drawn from the renowned Dr.Shirley Sahrmann PT, PhD FAPTA, author of “Diagnosis and Treatment of Movement Impairment Syndromes” and “Movement System Impairment Syndromes.” Driven by a commitment to excellence and a passion for advacing the field of physical therapy, Dr. Ha has seamlessly integrated Dr.Sahrmann’s principles into our practice, shaping a unique and patient-centered approach to movement optimization.
